KARACHI – Karvan.org envisions to showcase the best and the brightest talent from Pakistan. In this regard, Karvan has published the interview of Faran Tahir, a Pakistani-American actor, a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, who has appeared in a number of Hollywood movies and in over 50 US television shows.
His most notable roles were of Brigadier Rashid (Charlie Wilson’s War), Raza (Iron Man), Captain Robau (Star Trek), President Patel (Elysium), and Javed (Escape Plan). He played the third major character in Escape Plan (2013) starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. In his interview with Karvan, Faran Tahir shared that playing the role of Richard III and Othello from Shakespeare’s plays has been the most challenging ones yet. When asked about the revival of Pakistani cinema he was ecstatic and said,
“I love that new genres and varied topics are being explored.”
When giving a message for the youth of Pakistan, Faran Tahir said that
“Always follow your dreams but you must bravely face all obstacles.”
Replying to a question to whether he would work for a Pakistan production he said that,
“I would love to do it. This is where my roots are from.”
In this regard, Faran Tahir has availed an opportunity to act in a theatrical performance, “Bhai Bhai” scheduled at the Karachi Arts Council from February 3 to 10, 2019. It will feature Ali Tahir, Aaamir Qureshi, and Hina Dilpazir. According to sources, this is Faran’s first appearance in Pakistan in over three decades.
