Karachi: Gulshan Soccer Academy under the patronage of Department of Sports and Youth Affairs held Karachi Veterans Football Tournament 2021 at Ansar Union Football Stadium.
Karachi International Veterans beat Surjani Dean Veterans by 0-3 in the second half of the final of Karachi Veterans Football Cup 2021 in a match that was attended by a large number of football lovers.
Special Guest was former Director Sports Uzma Ismail and the guest of honour was former member Congress PFF Ali Bahar Brohi.
Speaking on the occasion, Uzma Ismail said that there is huge need to promote football in the country. She said a great football talent is present in the country. Ali Bahar Brohi said that all sports including football should be patronized and promoted. He asked students to focus on extra-curricular activities besides their education.
Former secretary Sindh Football Association Azam Khan said that PFF should take practical steps at grassroots level to further promote football and provide facilities to players.
Additional Commissioner FBR Mashkoor Ali said encouraging sports activities is necessary to fight social evils. He said sports play a major role in health and wellbeing of youth.Organizer Ashley said that more football tournaments should be arranged. He said these events provide learning opportunities to players.
On the occasion, Usman Ali Khan, Former International Footballer Salim Patni, Nasir Ismail, Zameerul Islam, Iqbal Junior, Shahzad Chaman, Noomi Martin, WaseemRiaz, Anees, Aziz, Muhammad Sadiq, match commissioner Ahmed Ali Wasti, referee Syed Aijaz Hussain, Islam Ansari, Nasiruddin Papu and others were also present.
Later, chief guest Uzma Ismail distributed prizes amongst the winner and runner-up teams.Aslam Memorial Veterans team was given fair play trophy.
