Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has lauded Pakistan’s diplomatic role in efforts to end the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel.

During a telephone conversation with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pezeshkian expressed gratitude for Islamabad’s mediation initiatives aimed at halting what he described as aggression against Iran, according to an official statement from the Iranian presidency.

The call comes at a critical time as Pakistan intensifies its diplomatic engagement to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East. Islamabad has positioned itself as a key intermediary, facilitating communication between Tehran and Washington while coordinating with regional partners.

Meanwhile, foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Türkiye are set to arrive in Islamabad for high-level talks focused on the evolving regional situation and efforts to promote peace. The meetings are expected to further strengthen diplomatic coordination aimed at reducing hostilities and advancing dialogue.

Pakistan’s growing role underscores its emerging position as a central player in mediation efforts, as global and regional stakeholders seek a negotiated path to end the escalating conflict.
