For reasons yet to be disclosed, Instagram has removed the account of Pakistan’s youngest vlogger, six-year-old Muhammad Shiraz, who had amassed 2.1 million followers.
Hailing from Gilgit-Baltistan, Shiraz became a beloved digital creator, showcasing the region’s breathtaking landscapes and shedding light on local challenges, including poor internet connectivity. A Grade 1 student, he actively shared his daily life on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, giving viewers a glimpse into the raw beauty of village life in northern Pakistan.
The news of the account’s removal was shared by his father, Muhammad Taqi, in a video on Shirazi Village Vlogs, the family’s YouTube channel with 1.76 million subscribers. Expressing distress, Taqi revealed that the account was taken down without warning. He received an email around 1 AM on January 27 notifying him of the suspension, but after filing an appeal, the account vanished completely.
Taqi also highlighted the financial strain caused by the removal, as Instagram served as their primary platform for paid promotions. “Instagram was extremely important for us,” he stated, emphasizing the impact on their livelihood.
