Jyoti Malhotra, a 33-year-old travel content creator from Hisar, Haryana, known for her YouTube channel Travel with Jo with over 377,000 subscribers, has been arrested by Indian authorities on suspicion of spying for Pakistan.
Malhotra, who is popular for her travel vlogs from countries like India, Pakistan, Indonesia, and China, describes herself on social media as a free-spirited “Nomadic Leo Girl Wanderer” with Haryanvi and Punjabi roots.
Her arrest is reportedly linked to a broader investigation into an espionage network spanning Haryana and Punjab. According to officials, Malhotra first visited Pakistan in 2023 with the help of visa agents. During her trip, she allegedly met Ehsan-ur-Rahim (also known as Danish), an employee at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, and was later introduced to Pakistani intelligence personnel during subsequent visits.
Investigators claim she communicated with these operatives using encrypted apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and Snapchat, and allegedly shared sensitive information regarding Indian military activity.
She has been booked under the Official Secrets Act and Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and remains in police custody as the investigation unfolds.
