IHHN Holds Rabies Awareness Session at The Hunar Foundation

Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) held a rabies awareness session at The Hunar Foundation as part of the Rabies Awareness Campaign 2026, titled “Stronger Together for a Rabies-Free Pakistan.”
The session engaged 110 participants, including students, teachers, the Principal and faculty members. Organisers focused on practical steps to prevent dog bites and reduce the risk of rabies.
Focus on Dog-Bite Prevention
The session explained how people can protect themselves from dog bites. Participants also learned what to do immediately after a bite.
In particular, health experts stressed the importance of washing the wound promptly with soap and running water. They also urged people to seek medical care without delay.
Importance of Timely PEP
The awareness programme highlighted Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) as an important measure after potential rabies exposure.
