Hamdard Tigers clinches Hakim Mohammed Said Interdepartmental Tape Ball Cricket Tourney

KARACHI – In a thrilling final of Hakim Mohammed Said (Shaheed-e-Pakistan) Interdepartmental Tape Ball Cricket Night Tournament, Marketing Division Tigers comprehensively defeated Hamdard Foundation Jaguars by 21 runs yesterday at UBL Sports Complex. Mrs. Sadia Rashid Chief Mutawallia of Hamdard Pakistan graced the occasion as chief guest and presented winners’ trophy to Marketing Division.

In the final, Marketing won the toss and elected to bat. While batting first, they scored 103 runs in allotted six overs. Muhammad Zeeshan, Assistant Manager Marketing Division played an exceptional innings of undefeated 75 runs. Jaguar put up a tough resistance but managed to score only 82 runs in their six overs.

Muhamad Zeeshan’s fabulous display of strokes helped marketing division to clinch winners’ trophy. He was declared player of the tournament, best batsman of the tournament and man of the match. Baleeghuddin Ahmed, Accounts Officer from Finance Division team (Lions) was declared best bowler of the tournament. He was the most economic bowler and took eight wickets in the tournament. 

In first semifinal, Marketing team easily chased 64 runs target set by Finance Division in 4th over. In second semifinal, Hamdard Foundation Jaguars outshined HR team (Stallions). Batting first Stallions scored 37 runs. Jaguar successfully chased the target in three overs.

10 teams of different divisions and affiliated organizations including Hamdard University and Hamdard Foundation participated in a 5-overs limited cricket tournament organized by Hamdard Pakistan. Fatema Munir Ahmed Managing Director and CEO, Prof. Dr. Syed Shabbib-ul-Hassan Vice Chancellor Hamdard University and Farrukh Imdad Director General Hamdard Foundation Pakistan also attend the event.
