Karachi — Google, in collaboration with the Ministry of Information Technology & Telecom (MoITT), Telenor, and Innovista, has launched a nationwide initiative titled “AI Seekho 2026” to equip Pakistan’s youth with advanced artificial intelligence skills.

The program aims to accelerate Pakistan’s transition toward a digital and AI-driven economy by providing free access to training in modern development tools and techniques, including generative AI and next-generation application building platforms.

Officials said the initiative introduces “vibe coding,” a modern approach to software development that allows users to build applications using natural language and problem-solving methods rather than traditional programming syntax. Participants will be trained using platforms such as Google AI Studio and Google Antigravity.

Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja said the initiative supports Pakistan’s vision of shifting from a service-based economy to a product-driven, AI-enabled economy. She emphasized that with a large youth population, digital skills development is essential for global competitiveness.

Google representatives, including Farhan Qureshi, said the company believes strongly in Pakistan’s digital potential and is committed to expanding AI capabilities for developers, freelancers, and creative industries.

The program will follow a structured “Learn, Build, Win” model. In the first phase, participants will join an online challenge running from April 11 to May 3, focusing on building applications or games using generative AI tools.

The second phase will feature physical hackathons in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, where selected participants will compete to develop mobile applications for a prize pool of PKR 2.5 million.

Organizers said the initiative is supported by Google Developer Groups and Google Developer Experts, with additional resources such as cloud credits provided to participants to encourage innovation and hands-on learning.

Officials described “AI Seekho 2026” as a major step toward building a future-ready workforce capable of contributing to global technology markets and advancing Pakistan’s role in the artificial intelligence revolution.
