Gold prices in Pakistan witnessed a significant drop on Friday, in line with a global downturn in the precious metal’s value. As per the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the rate of gold per tola dropped by Rs5,000, bringing it down to Rs351,000 in the local market. Likewise, the price for 10 grams of gold decreased by Rs4,287, now standing at Rs300,925.
This sharp decline comes a day after gold prices had increased by Rs1,335 per tola, reaching Rs356,000 on Thursday. On the international front, gold also saw a notable decrease, with prices falling by $53 to $3,290 per ounce (inclusive of a $20 premium), as noted by APGJSA.
Silver prices were not spared either, falling by Rs68 per tola to settle at Rs3,782.
