ISLAMABAD: Commander National Strategic Command (CNSC) General Aamer Raza has warned Pakistan’s adversaries against any miscalculation, saying that a hostile move would trigger a response beyond the initiator’s expectations.

Addressing the passing-out parade of cadets of the 154th Long Course at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA), Kakul, on Saturday, General Raza said Pakistan’s armed forces remained prepared to defend every inch of the country.

“There is no space for conflict or war in a nuclearised environment,” he said, warning that any miscalculation would carry consequences far beyond what its initiator could imagine or calculate.

His remarks followed statements by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who warned on Thursday that any fresh terrorist activity originating from Pakistan would invite a strike bigger than the previous one, according to Indian media reports.

Warning Against Disinformation and Hybrid Threats

General Raza said Pakistan’s adversaries were attempting to create divisions between the public and the armed forces through disinformation and narrative warfare.

He said that after the failure of Operation Sindoor, hostile elements had sought to undermine Pakistan’s social cohesion and state institutions through proxy terrorism and sub-conventional warfare.

The CNSC chief warned that hostile actors continued to exploit internal vulnerabilities to weaken national unity.

He urged the newly graduated cadets to remain committed to their duties and resist malicious propaganda. He also stressed the importance of protecting Pakistan’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity under all circumstances.

Pakistan’s Role in Regional Peace

General Raza said changing global geopolitical dynamics, particularly the escalating conflict in the Middle East, had highlighted Pakistan’s strategic importance.

He cited the Islamabad Accord as an example of Pakistan’s efforts to promote regional stability through diplomacy. He also referred to the Makkah Accord as part of the broader vision for lasting peace.

Expressing solidarity with Palestinians, he condemned the continued suffering of civilians, including women and children.

He said Pakistan remained committed to providing diplomatic, moral and political support to the Palestinian people.

General Raza also criticised violence against civilians and the destruction of civilian infrastructure, describing such actions as serious violations of international law.

He added that the growing use of grey-zone tactics and hybrid threats posed challenges to the stability and sovereignty of states.

Foreign Office Rejects Indian Defence Minister’s Remarks

A day before General Raza’s address, Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) condemned Rajnath Singh’s remarks, describing them as provocative and reflective of what it called India’s hegemonic mindset.

FO spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan said such rhetoric threatened peace and stability in South Asia.

He referred to the military confrontation between Pakistan and India in May 2025, saying Pakistan had demonstrated its ability and resolve to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The spokesperson stressed that Pakistan remained fully prepared to respond to any aggression.

He also cautioned that Pakistan’s restraint and commitment to peace should not be interpreted as weakness.

The Foreign Office urged India to avoid hostile rhetoric, act responsibly and pursue measures that support lasting regional peace.
