A high-level meeting was chaired by Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, Senior Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), to discuss the ongoing DPL issue and its broader implications for the industrial sector.
The meeting was attended by key industry representatives, including Chairman PCDMA Saleem Wali Mohammad, Chairman PTA Hamid Arshad Zahoor, Vice Chairman PCDMA Shariq Feroze, Mustafa Asad and Asad Iqbal from PCMA, along with Mobin Bashir, former Executive Committee member of FPCCI.
Participants unanimously agreed on adopting a firm and unified stance on the matter, emphasizing the urgency of addressing escalating challenges faced by the manufacturing sector.
A major concern highlighted during the session was the continuous rise in the cost of industrial raw materials. Stakeholders warned that this trend is significantly increasing the overall cost of production, thereby weakening industrial competitiveness in global markets.
The participants cautioned that if the issue persists, it could negatively impact Pakistan’s export performance and overall economic stability. They stressed the need for immediate policy attention to ensure price stability and safeguard industrial productivity.
