ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik has called for dialogue between the government and Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to address the nation’s challenges. Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, Malik emphasized the need for unity and the importance of putting aside political divisions for the country’s welfare.

Malik highlighted that ongoing political chaos and unrest could lead the country toward ruin. “Let’s sit down and resolve our issues. Our priority should be the prosperity of our people, not political infighting,” he stated. He criticized anti-national elements for impeding Pakistan’s progress and emphasized that the country’s identity is not tied to any single leader.

The Minister accused PTI’s leadership of inciting violence and spreading misinformation, particularly concerning the military and alleged foreign conspiracies. Malik claimed that PTI’s actions seem aimed at destabilizing the nation. He also recalled the party’s contradictory statements regarding the army and the United States.

Malik defended the government’s efforts to alleviate economic burdens, noting a significant reduction in inflation from last year’s 38%. He reiterated the government’s commitment to reducing inflation and creating employment opportunities. “Our primary focus is to reduce inflation and provide employment,” Malik said, stressing the importance of stability.

He urged PTI to cooperate for the nation’s betterment, warning that continued political discord could jeopardize Pakistan’s future. “Destroying the country is not the solution. We must come together and resolve our issues for the betterment of our children and our future,” Malik concluded.
