Karachi: Father’s Day is celebrated annually on the third Sunday in June in United States, United Kingdom, Canada, India and number of other countries around world including Pakistan. In every religion and culture father is an important figure. Holy Book Quran guides Muslims followers to do good with their mothers and fathers.
Father’s Day in June, Mudassir Thanvi Chairman of Kings Catering and Director of Kings Builders in a statement while remembering his father who passed away in 1993 said that he had lost his father at an early age.
He said, “Family celebrated my brother Hafiz Ahmed Mustafa Thanvi’s son (my nephew) Hafiz Arham Thanvi who ‘said over’ of Holy Quran in a ceremony on June 1, 2023, that reckoned my childhood’s memories and days spent with my father”.
Father provides a positive male role model for their children and help to promote/reinforce good behaviours. As result, children with more involved fathers tend to have fewer behavioural and impulse control problems, longer attention spans and higher level of sociability, he added. According to Stephen Kendrick he outlines seven roles that father plays in life of his family, provider, protector, leader, teacher, helper, encourager and friend.
Father gives confidence and joy when he spends time with children, disciplines with love, and has positive parenting. He is the child’s role model; the Child earns the right to be heard and he is the child’s teacher. Besides, when he eats together child learns table manners, he said.
