KARACHI, March 10, 2025 – Malik Tahir Javaid, President of the Employers Federation of Pakistan (EFP), will represent Pakistani employers at the 353rd ILO Governing Body Meeting, at the ILO Headquarters in Geneva.
The ILO Governing Body serves as the executive body where members representing government, workers, and employers discuss and make key policy decisions. These include budget proposals for 2026-2027, strategic outcomes under various programs, and important policy matters related to the world of work. The meeting will critically examine country-specific developments, follow up on the implementation of resolutions, and address the ILO’s strategy for promoting decent work in the global supply chain.
EFP president will also have exclusive meetings with the International Organization of Employers (IOE) to highlight the commitments of Pakistani employers in respecting international labor standards. He will focus on supporting the global accelerator program for job creation and social protection for a just transition, as well as promoting human rights due diligence and social justice. Furthermore, he will present the EFP’s initiatives on gender equality, social justice, and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals through its tripartite platform, the Pakistan Business Taskforce on UNSDCF.
