EFP, FUE Sign Agreement Under Commerce Minister’s Leadership.

KARACHI: Federal Commerce Minister, Jam Kamal Khan, expressed the hope that employer organizations must work in harmony to promote business relations and invest in other countries. The initiative taken by EFP and FUE will surely be a harbinger of more collaboration, cooperation, and camaraderie between two important organizations. His Ministry has accorded high priority to trade with African countries and requested the Ugandans to promote Pakistani exports not only in Uganda but in other African Countries.

Federal Commerce Minister was speaking at the signing of a Memorandum of Collaboration, Cooperation, Advocacy, and Lobbying between Employers Federation of Pakistan and Federation of Uganda Employers on the side-lines of the FoodAG exhibition. Syed Nazar Ali, Secretary General of Employers Federation of Pakistan, and Douglas Opio, Executive Director Federation of Uganda Employers, signed the Memorandum on behalf of the respective organizations. Chief Executive of TDAP, Zubair Motiwala, Majyd Aziz, Former President of EFP, Nooh Mayambala, Chairman of Islamic Chamber of Commerce of Uganda, Shaffi Manafa, Head of Marketing FUE and A. Q Khalil, Former President KCCI, also witnessed the signing ceremony.

Chief Executive of TDAP, Zubair Motiwala, who presided over the ceremony, disclosed that the exports of Pakistani agricultural commodities would cross more than $10 billion by June 2026. He expressed his satisfaction that nearly 800 foreign delegates attended the FoodAG and said that it is a manifestation of the recognition of quality products from Pakistan.

He invited FUE to bring a large delegation of Uganda employers to visit Pakistan and acquaint themselves with the economic progress, the wide variety of products, commodities, and services, and become strong business partners.

Former President of EFP, Majyd Aziz, while welcoming the guests paid tributes to TDAP for organizing an excellent exhibition and for inviting a large number of foreign buyers. “Both EFP and FUE are constituents of ILO besides being members of International Organization of Employers. He said that both organizations have also agreed to work together to achieve common goals at ILO, he added.

The Chairman of Islamic Chamber of Commerce of Uganda, Nooh Mayambala, thanked the Commerce Minister and CE TDAP for taking time out to attend this important event. He also offered the services of the Islamic Chamber in promoting bilateral trade and investment in the future.
