DIGP East assures to solve land grabbing problems.

KARACHI: DIGP East Karachi Muquddas Haider has said that Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) is playing important role in construction industry and economic progress of Pakistan. He also assured to solve problems of ABAD members including that of land grabbing, which has become a big nuisance in Karachi.

He was addressing a meeting with ABAD members at ABAD House on Tuesday. Chairman ABAD Altaf Tai, Vice Chairman Nadeem Jeewa, Chairman Southern Region Raheel Rinch, convener law and order sub-committee Asif Sumsum, former chairmen Junaid Ashraf Taloo, Muhammad Hassan Bakshi, Haji Rafiq Pardesi and members of ABAD were also present on this occasion.

DIGP said that Karachi was sixth in terms of crime upto 2014 but now it is on 120th number due to sacrifices of many police officials. He said that to make Karachi safer one million cameras will be installed in various points of Karachi under the Safe City program even now also police monitoring situation of the city through various cameras installed in the city.

He said that a committee is being formed with ABAD against land grabbing and encroachment. Focal person from ABAD and an SSP will lead the committee he said adding that he himself will take review of committee report every month. He said that ABAD is playing an important role in development of Karachi and national economy so the resolution of ABAD’s problems is considered as the economic progress of the country.

Addressing the meeting, Chairman ABAD Altaf Tai said that major problem of builders and developers is land encroachment. He said that land grabbers, in the past, were encroaching our lands using party flags and extortionists were extort money from us through kidnapping our children and now they are kidnapping our lands through a systematic support from Anti Encroachment Cell and Mukhtiarkar office and staff of Revenue department is also supporting land grabbers. He said that now-a-days 80 percent construction activities is in Karachi East District, where land grabbers are encroaching our land through Mukhtiarkar office and demanding millions of rupees to hand back plots. He expressed the hope that DIGP East will instruct his staff to resolve our issues.

Speaking on this occasion, Convener Law and Sub-Committee ABAD Asif Sumsum said that land grabbers are encroaching upon our land through the help of Revenue department. He said that earlier whenever an issue of land ownership was reported Police was advising to go to court but now police itself stopping land owner from going to his land. Vice Chairman Nadeem Jeewa said that DIGP Muquddas Haider was Focal Person from Police department for ABAD so we hophe he will understand well our problems and solve our problems on priority basis. Earlier Chairman Southern Region ABAD welcomed DIGP for coming to ABAD House.
