CHITRAL: Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral Muhammad Ali Khan inaugurated new office of CDM, The office of Chitral Development Moment, a non-political and non-governmental voluntary organization working for the construction of roads in Chitral, was formally inaugurated at Eid Al Hussain Plaza. Later on a function was also held in the town hall organized by CDM which was presided over by Alhaji Eidul Hussain while Deputy Commissioner Chitral was chief guest on the occasion. Addressing to the function leaders and members of CDM said that It is a non-political organization free from politics, nationality and creed, in which there are people from all three sects, Sunni, Ismaili and Kailash working on volunteer basis and their aim is only one slogan that the road is our right.
The speakers said that the secret of the development of any country is related to good roads and if the roads are bad, they can never move forward. A unanimous resolution was also passed in the meeting. Through the unanimous resolution it was demanded hat the work on the roads from Lowari Tunnel to Chitral, Chitral to Shandur, Ayun, Bomburit was started by the National Highway Authority (NHA) a year ago, but the above three roads were left incompleted and work stopped 5 month ago.. The work has been closed for the last 5 months. Through this resolution, it was demanded that the work on these roads should be started immediately and the owners of the land in this road should be paid to the owners. It was demanded through the resolution that The NHA should work on these roads as per the SOPs and follow the rules to prevent dust and remove debris from the roads.
In the meeting, it was demanded from the state that the PC1 of Chitral to Garm Chashma and Durra Pass road was deferred by ECNEC ie Executive Committee of the National Economic Council , Department of Communication and Works (C&W) and Planning Committee. Through the resolution, the state is requested to immediately approve its PC1 from ECNEC and start the construction work on these roads. Also, keeping in mind the problems of students of Chitral University, the road of Chitral University should be black-topped by the maintenance department of NHA and their problems should be solved.
Through the resolution, it was demanded that work on Darosh, Arundu, Sheshikoh roads should be started immediately and paved and these roads should be made safe for travel. The work should be started.
The meeting demanded through a resolution that the Mastoj, Yarkhun, Brughal road should be handed over to the NHA department or this road of defense importance should be paved and widened by C&W along with Booni,, Ower. , Milkho, Trich road should also be widened and constructed. Through the resolution, the Booni to Buzund, Torkho road which is under construction for the last fourteen years, which is 32 km long, but this road is not even 50% constructed yet it is demanded that this road should be constructed immediately.
Through the unanimous resolution, the people of both districts of Chitral demand to develop Chitral by promoting tourism, getting the right benefits from education and health facilities and improving the life standard of the people and economic benefits from the resources in Chitral. To achieve this, the condition of the roads of both districts should be improved and the problems of people’s transportation should be solved on a priority basis. The resolution was passed unanimously.
Maulvi Israruddin Al-Hilal, CDM Chairman Waqas Ahmed Advocate, Inayatullah Aseer, Safdar Ali Kash, Sheikh Abdullah, Subedar Retd.Amir Muhammad expressed their views on the occasion while Pakhtun Wali Advocate performed as stage secretary. The meeting concluded with a prayer words by Ameer Muawiya, which was attended by a large number of people. After the meeting, under the Imamat of Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali, Zuhr prayer was also offered in the lawn of the District Council.
