ISLAMABAD – Federal government on Saturday has reportedly decided to hike salaries of the government employees by 10pc for the fiscal year (FY) 2018-19, well-informed sources told GNN News.
Sources privy to finance ministry revealed that two summaries, aimed at hiking salaries by10 and 15pc respectively, were forwarded to ministry. However, the summary aimed at raising salaries by 10pc was approved.
It has been also learned that the second summary will be discussed in extra-ordinary meeting of federal cabinet scheduled to be held before the budget session. If the federal cabinet adopts the second summary, then salaries will be raised by 15pc.
Back then in January this year, the Senate Standing committee on finance has recommended to increase salaries of the 10 percent.
During the meeting, Senator Khanzada said that considering the rise in inflation, the salaries of government employees should be increased.
