Karachi, April 15, 2026 — Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, met with Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, Saleemullah, in Karachi to discuss improvements in the payment mechanism for BISP beneficiaries.

The meeting focused on enhancing transparency, efficiency, and ease of access in the disbursement system, with particular emphasis on introducing interoperability in banking services. The proposed system would allow beneficiary women to receive payments through any bank of their choice, increasing flexibility and convenience.
Both sides also discussed additional measures to further facilitate beneficiaries and strengthen the overall payment infrastructure. Officials agreed to work jointly to make the system more secure, transparent, and user-friendly.
The State Bank of Pakistan assured full cooperation with BISP in implementing reforms aimed at improving service delivery for low-income families across the country.
Senior officials, including Director General Cash Transfers BISP Muhammad Idrees Mian and DG Sindh Sanaullah Rind, were also present during the meeting.
