He is also known as Elon Reeve Musk was born in Pretoria, South Africa on June 28, 1971. His mother is Maye Musk and she is a model and dietitian. His father is Errol Musk and he is a South African electromechanical engineer, pilot, sailor, consultant, and property developer. He has a younger brother Kimbal and a younger sister Tosca.
His parents get divorced in 1980 and started living with his father and regretted because he has been made estranged by his father. He says “He is a terrible human being and has almost done every evil thing we can think of.
He received bachelor’s degrees in economics and physics from University of Pennsylvania. When he was 10, he became interested in computing and video games and acquired Commodore VIC-20. He learned computer programming and at the age of 12, he sold a code of a BASIC based video game Blastar which he has created to PC and an office technology magazine for around $500.
He decided to co-found the web software company Zip2 with brother Kimbal. The startup was acquired by Compaq for $307 million in 1999. He also co-founded an online bank in the same year which has been merged with PayPal, the company was bought by eBay in 2002 for $1.5 billion.
Musk founded, CEO and CTO SpaceX which was an aerospace manufacturer and space transport services company in 2002. he joined electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla Motors, Inc. in 2004. He helped creating a solar energy services company that was later acquired by Tesla and became Tesla Energy in 2006. He co-founded OpenAI in 2015, co-founded Neuralink in 2016, founded The Boring Company which is a tunnel construction company. Musk has proposed the Hyperloop that is a high-speed vactrain transportation system.
