PRCS, LPF signed a MoU to provide relief assistance to flood affected people in Pakistan.

Karachi (September 29, 2022): On Thursday, September 29, 2022, the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) has signed an MoU with a charitable Trust, Lottee Pakistan Foundation (LPF)  to provide humanitarian and relief support to the flood victims in Pakistan. The MOU was signed by Dr. Adeel Nawaz Secretary General Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) and Mr. Young Dae Kim Chairman Lottee Pakistan Foundation (LPF). PRCS Chairman Sardar Shahid Ahmad Laghari was also attended the ceremony. According to the MoU, LPF will provide food packs/rations worth Rs 20 million to PRCS for the flood affected population in Pakistan.

Minister Counsellor, Consulate General of Republic of Korea Mr. Kim Haksung also participated in the ceremony. He expressed solidarity with the flood affected families in Pakistan. He said that the Korean government is considering additional aid for the flood victims of Pakistan.

PRCS Chairman Sardar Shahid Ahmad Laghari appreciated the generosity of LPF and their confidence in PRCS. “Now, with the help of LPF, PRCS will provide food to thousands of flood-affected families”, said Chairman Laghari. He also appreciated the efforts of the Korean government and said that every country should play its role in helping Pakistan to provide maximum assistance to the flood-affected families. “We have reached and provided relief to thousands of families, especially in areas where no other organization has reached due to lack of access, and this will continue until Relief will not be extended to the last victim”, the PRCS chairman asserted.

Mr. Kim, Chairman LPF said that the Red Cross / Red Crescent are an international humanitarian movement and the PRCS is serving to humanity throughout Pakistan. He further added that we are highly impressed by the humanitarian efforts of the PRCS aimed at alleviating people’s misery. “Based on the credibility and reputation of the PRCS, we are confident that food packs will be distributed among the most vulnerable and deserving families affected by floods,” he added.

Both organizations hoped that this cooperation will be enhanced in the future to provide relief to maximum and most vulnerable people affected by this devastating flood in Pakistan.
