KARACHI: Newly Elected Rotary Internationals Director Muhammad Faiz Kidwai said that it is an honor and privilege to be part of such an organization that is devoted to the betterment of every human in the world. The heart of Rotary is our clubs. He also said that I am committed to supporting them as they promote health, peace, and prosperity in communities across the globe.
Faiz Qadwai also said that due to limited government resources in relation to the growing human population in the country, it is difficult to control the problem. Members are serving the human race regardless of color, race, and Rotary’s mission is to provide quality services in the education and health sectors, eradicating polio from the world was a difficult target for the Rotary, which will soon be fulfilled. Then, with the intention of changing the condition of the people through education, you will surely be supported by the support of all your friends.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of Rotary Pakistan Media Center Mohammad Iqbal Qureshi said that the newly elected Director of Rotary is the first Pakistani to be awarded such honour, considerably the highest honor for Pakistan in the world. Faiz Kidwai has been associated with Rotary for the past 30 years and has contributed a lot of money to eradicate polio across the world, especially in Pakistan, and has raised approximately $ 50 million for the welfare work while restoring 150 flood-affected families.
Faiz Kidwai, renowned businessman and Chairman of CG Global Pvt. Ltd. achieves a historical milestone by becoming the first Pakistani to be selected as a member of Rotary International’s Board of Directors. He will serve as the Rotary Internationals Director while representing nearly 800 clubs with up to 16,000 Rotary members across Pakistan, Indonesia, and Bangladesh as part of a 17-member board that supports and guides Rotary’s 36,000 clubs worldwide.
Faiz Kidwai has been involved with Rotary International for the past several years and has also served as District Governor. He also urged that the mission of Rotary is to eliminate polio from the world, after that it is intended to bring a change while providing quality education to the people. As chair of the Rotary Pakistan Literacy Mission, Faiz is leading the Total Literacy and Quality Education Program, under which TEACH (Teachers Support, E-Learning Adult Literacy, Child development & Happy Schools) program is being implemented in over 400 schools in partnership with the government. Post the pandemic, the program is now focusing on supporting the government in developing E-learning programs all over the country. He also initiated the Million Books Collection project and supported more than 2,000 libraries by distributing around 700,000 books collected from various countries.
On this occasion, Past District Governor Pir Ibrahim Shah, Chartered President Rotary Club of Karachi Sindh Valley Hameed Bhutto, President Rotary Club of Karachi Kehkashan Moin Khan and others were present at the conference.
