Philip Morris Pakistan and Hashoo Hunar complete a water storage project in Rigayul, Skardu
SKARDU, October 7, 2026: Philip Morris (Pakistan) Limited (PMPKL), in collaboration with Hashoo Hunar Association (HHA), has completed the construction of a 30,700-litre water storage tank in Rigayul, Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan.
The project aims to improve local water access and strengthen water storage capacity for households in the area. The facility is expected to directly benefit around 100 households and support wider community water security.
The initiative is designed to help residents manage water availability for everyday domestic needs, including household use and kitchen gardening.
Water Storage Facility Built for Long-Term Use
The water tank was constructed using reinforced concrete and includes waterproofing, plumbing and water-tightness measures.
According to PMPKL, the infrastructure has been designed as a durable solution to support the community’s water needs over the long term.
Ali Takesh, Managing Director of PMPKL, said reliable access to water was important for community well-being and sustainable development.
“Access to reliable water is fundamental to community well-being and sustainable development. Through partnerships with experienced local organizations, we aim to support initiatives that address community needs and create lasting positive impact.”

Hashoo Hunar Association implemented the project as PMPKL’s local partner.

PMPKL said the project forms part of its broader corporate social responsibility activities, which include initiatives related to water access, community well-being, livelihoods and environmental sustainability.
The company said such collaborations are intended to support practical solutions that address local needs and contribute to community resilience.
