Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi met Punjab Ombudsperson Dr Najma Afzal Khan at the Governor House to discuss measures aimed at strengthening citizens’ rights, ensuring swift and impartial justice, and promoting effective governance through closer institutional collaboration.
During the meeting, both leaders held detailed discussions on improving public service delivery, expanding access to administrative justice and reinforcing cooperation between institutions. They also exchanged views on promoting transparency, accountability and public confidence in government institutions.
After nearly 100 words, Punjab Ombudsperson Dr Najma Afzal Khan briefed the governor on her institution’s performance in addressing public complaints, safeguarding equal rights for citizens and maintaining a transparent accountability system across the province. She highlighted the office’s ongoing efforts to resolve grievances efficiently and enhance public trust through accessible and fair administrative processes.

Governor Hashmi praised the Punjab Ombudsperson’s office for its commitment to public service and its role in strengthening administrative justice. He said the institution plays a vital role in building trust between citizens and the state by ensuring effective redress of public complaints.
The governor added that strengthening public-oriented institutions, improving access to justice and upholding the rule of law remain essential priorities for Pakistan’s governance framework.
Both leaders agreed on the importance of sharing experiences between federal units, enhancing institutional coordination and adopting best governance practices to make public service delivery more effective and responsive to citizens’ needs.
