Gujrat Arrest: Seminary Teacher Held in Student Abuse Case After Police Raid

Police say the suspect was arrested in an injured condition after allegedly trying to flee during a raid in Alipur Chatha, while separate operations in Kamoke and Gakhar Mandi led to further arrests and one death.

Gujrat Arrest: Police in Gujranwala division say they arrested a seminary teacher accused of sexually abusing two students after a raid in Alipur Chatha, Wazirabad.

A spokesperson for Gujranwala police said the suspect, identified only as A, was wanted in a case involving the alleged sexual abuse of two students. According to police, officers moved to arrest him during a raid, but he allegedly attempted to escape. Police later detained him in an injured condition.

The spokesperson did not specify the nature of the injuries. Gujranwala Capital City Police Officer Dr Ghias Gul has requested a report on the incident from the Saddar Division superintendent of police, and investigators are continuing to examine the case.

In a separate operation in Kamoke, police arrested another suspect accused of attempting to rape a five-year-old girl. Saddar Kamoke police said the man, identified as S, allegedly tried to flee from a police picket and was injured before officers took him into custody. A case has been registered against him.

Meanwhile, police reported another encounter in Gakhar Mandi, where a robbery suspect died after being shot during an operation. Officers said the suspect was wanted in around 40 criminal cases in Gujranwala and Sialkot.

Police alleged that the man had injured a citizen during a robbery in Gakhar Mandi on 6 July. During the encounter, officers said the suspect came under fire from his own accomplices and later died.

Authorities have registered a case against the deceased suspect and unidentified accomplices, while investigations into all three incidents remain under way.

Note: The allegations against the arrested suspects have not been proven in court. The report reflects claims made by police officials, and all suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
