The NDMA alert has been issued by the National Disaster Management Authority warning of heavy rainfall, strong winds, and possible flood-like conditions across northern and upper Pakistan from June 16 to 20. The advisory highlights a strong westerly weather system affecting multiple regions.

Moreover, authorities expect thunderstorms, gusty winds, and scattered rainfall during this period. In some areas, hail may also occur. As a result, emergency departments have been placed on high alert across vulnerable zones.

NDMA Alert Punjab Rain Forecast

According to the NDMA alert, several districts in Punjab are likely to experience thunderstorms and rainfall, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Gujranwala, and Bahawalpur.

Furthermore, both urban and rural areas may face disrupted travel conditions due to heavy rain. Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious, especially in low-lying areas. Consequently, local administrations are preparing for possible emergency response situations.

NDMA Alert KPK AJK Gilgit Weather

The NDMA alert also covers Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, where widespread thunderstorms and rain are expected. Regions such as Swat, Chitral, Mansehra, Muzaffarabad, and Skardu are included in the warning.

In addition, rising temperatures combined with rainfall may increase the risk of flood-like situations. Therefore, authorities have urged residents in mountainous areas to stay vigilant. The advisory also highlights potential disruption in road connectivity.

NDMA Alert Sindh Balochistan Rain Risk

In Sindh and Balochistan, the NDMA alert predicts scattered rainfall and thunderstorms in cities including Sukkur, Larkana, Quetta, Zhob, and Khuzdar.

Moreover, weather instability may affect transportation and daily activities in several districts. As a result, local disaster management teams have been instructed to monitor conditions closely. Authorities continue to track developments in real time.

NDMA Alert GLOF Landslide Warning

The NDMA alert also warns of glacial lake outburst floods (GLOFs) in northern regions such as Hassanabad, Shishper, Gulmit, Passu, and Shigar.

Furthermore, rapid glacier melting combined with rainfall may trigger dangerous water flows in rivers and streams. Landslides and road closures are also expected in hilly areas. Consequently, tourists and travelers have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel to northern regions and check weather updates before departure.
