INDIA : A wedding incident in the city of Agra in Uttar Pradesh turned into a controversy and serious allegations when a newly married bride demanded Rs 90 lakh from her husband on the first night of her wedding for the ‘Manna Dhai’ ritual and when the money was not received, the matter escalated to an attempted murder. According to Muskan Singh, a woman from the affected family, her brother was married to a woman named ‘Kalpana’. On the first night of the wedding, when the groom arrived at the room, the bride made it clear in two words that she would remove her veil only when she was given Rs 9 million in cash. When the demand was not met, the bride took jewelry and valuables with her and later fled. The bride’s family also tried to set the groom’s family on fire. Police say that the real facts will come out only after the investigation is completed.
