The highest temperature recorded yesterday was 48°C in Dadu district, Sindh. Other hot spots included Jacobabad, Sibi, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Bhakkar, and Sargodha with 47°C, and Mohenjo Daro and Larkana with 46°C.

The weather will remain hot and dry in most areas, with severe heat during daytime especially in the plains. Sindh will experience hot and dry conditions today with a likelihood of strong dusty winds in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, rainfall accompanied by wind and thunderstorms is forecast for Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, and Kashmir, starting May 19.

The Met Office advises the public to take precautionary measures against heat-related health risks by staying hydrated and avoiding outdoor activities during peak heat hours.

A westerly weather system is expected to influence the upper parts of the country on May 19, bringing rainfall to Kashmir, Islamabad, Pothohar region, northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan on May 19 and 20.
