ISLAMABAD: Zong and Mashreq Bank Pakistan have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at integrating telecom services into Mashreq’s digital banking ecosystem, marking another major step toward advancing Pakistan’s digital economy and customer convenience.

SMEs Face Collapse if Ignored in Budget 2026-27, Warns HCSTSI President Saleem Memon

Under the collaboration, Mashreq Bank customers will be able to directly access a wide range of Zong telecom services through the Mashreq mobile banking application, including mobile balance recharge, bundle subscriptions, and telecom-related bill payments.

The integration is designed to provide customers with a seamless, secure, and real-time digital experience through a unified banking and telecom interface.

Officials from both organizations said the partnership reflects the growing convergence between Pakistan’s financial and telecommunications sectors as digital adoption continues to accelerate nationwide.

Speaking on the occasion, Faheem Durrani, Executive Director Sales and Distribution at Zong, said the partnership aligns with the company’s broader vision of expanding digital access and improving customer experience through technology-driven solutions.

“This collaboration allows us to make essential telecom services more accessible while strengthening our role as a technology-driven service enterprise within Pakistan’s evolving digital landscape,” he said.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Hamayun Sajjad, Chief Executive Officer of Mashreq Pakistan, said the bank remained committed to simplifying everyday banking and lifestyle services for its customers.

“As demand for digital and mobile services continues to grow, this partnership with Zong enables customers to access essential telecom services in a secure, convenient, and seamless manner through the Mashreq app,” he stated.

Industry experts believe the collaboration represents a significant development in Pakistan’s fintech and digital services sector, where telecom companies and financial institutions are increasingly working together to create integrated customer solutions.

The partnership also reinforces Zong’s strategy of promoting digital transformation and customer-centric innovation while supporting Pakistan’s transition toward a more connected and cashless digital economy.

Both organizations indicated that the collaboration could pave the way for additional interoperable digital solutions and expanded service offerings in the future.
