This week, residents of the US state of Illinois are expected to receive 39 397 in compensation from Facebook.

According to international media reports, last year Facebook agreed to pay 65 650 million to end a class action privacy lawsuit.

The lawsuit, filed in 2015, alleges that the social media company collected and stored the biometric data of Illinois residents without their permission.

According to the report, the money will be given by Facebook to the residents of the US state of Illinois for violating the Biometric Information Privacy Act.

Under the Act, users can file lawsuits against social media companies for violating their privacy.

The report also states that after deducting lawyers’ fees and other expenses, the money saved will be distributed to the residents of the US state of Illinois.
