SYDNEY : A study by the University of Sydney in Australia found that if you spend hours sitting, you can reduce your risk of several diseases by increasing the number of steps you take. According to the study, if you walk 10,000 steps daily, it reduces the risk of premature death by 39 percent and the risk of heart disease, including heart attack, by 21 percent. The researchers said that it is not that you can sit for hours and then walk for a while and feel satisfied, but the results indicate that all kinds of physical activity are important for health. According to the researchers, even walking at least 4 to 4,500 steps a day can significantly reduce the risk of heart disease. The results of this study were published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
