LONDON : The life jacket of a passenger aboard the sinking ship Titanic in 1912 has been auctioned for a record price. The life jacket of a passenger who managed to survive the sinking of the Titanic was auctioned for $94,500 (more than 250 million Pakistani rupees) by Henry Aldridge & Son, an auction house in Britain. The life jacket was worn by Laura Mabel during the sinking of the Titanic, which sank in the Atlantic Ocean after hitting an iceberg on its maiden voyage from Britain to America in April 1912. Laura Mabel was the secretary of fashion designer Lucy Duff Gordon. She was traveling on the Titanic with Lucy Duff and her husband, and all three survived by boarding lifeboat number 1. The life jacket bears the signatures of Laura Mabel and the people on the lifeboat.
