Karachi (Staff Reporter) The shrine of Hazrat Qutub Alam Shah Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) is at the top of the famous shrines of Karachi, said renowned architect Kafeel Hussain on the occasion of his visit. He said that in a big city like Karachi, where commercial activities are increasing rapidly and residential and commercial buildings are being built, it is also necessary to protect the shrines, historical and cultural heritage. Spiritual places like the shrine have not only made the area a pilgrimage center but also a part of social relations, charity work and leisure facilities, while there is also concern about the condition and preservation of the historical structure around the shrine. Kafeel Hussain said that I had the honor of reconstructing and decorating the shrine, which I made as beautiful as possible based on my experience and skills. At the age of seven, I had thought of designing it, which I got the opportunity to put into practice. He said that some important points have been included in the construction of the shrine, the most important of which is that it has been written here that it is forbidden to prostrate to the grave of the owner of the shrine, while it has also been forbidden to perform Tawaf around the grave. And a special place has been designated for women away from the shrine. It is written here that it is forbidden to prostrate before the grave of the owner of the shrine, while circumambulating the area around the grave is also prohibited, and a special place has been designated for women away from the shrine from where they can pray for themselves and for the religious leaders. You will not find such writing on any other shrine in Karachi or Pakistan. Kafeel Hussain said that the dome has been decorated with beautiful Iranian tiles from the outside, resembling the shrine of Ghaus Pak Pir Ane Pir, because the lineage of the owner of the shrine has also been kept in mind. The roof of the dome has been decorated with beautiful names and beautiful calligraphy from the Holy Quran is present on the edges of the roof. He said that such clay stone has been used in the construction of the shrine that is both durable and beautiful in the humidity and salty climate of Karachi city. The lineage marble lattice floors, arches and high doors here are reminiscent of the Mughal era. Special care has also been taken in the construction to ensure that natural air and light pass through and the interior of the shrine is airy. Kafeel Hussain, the custodian, said that while carrying out the construction, care has been taken to ensure that the shrine’s spiritual values and reflection of ancient architecture are maintained, and that the movement of women has been kept away from the premises, and that the Sharia requirements have been met. The Langar Khana here has also been improved for the convenience of the pilgrims. This shrine has become a river of grace for the pilgrims and the people of the city who come here, and countless people are benefiting from Hazrat Qutub Alam Shah Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him).
