How do you see the current political situation in Pakistan after the end of the PTI government?
PTI MPA Shahzad Qureshi: Since the conspiracy or interference in Pakistan, the overall political situation has changed. In the current situation, I think that the election will be announced soon. They come into the government but they can’t run the economy like Imran Khan. During Imran Khan’s tenure, the country was on the path of development. When our government used to raise prices under duress, these people used to criticize, and fabricate false statements but today they are trapped in their trap. In the current economic situation, it seems that these people will not be able to run the government for more than two months.
Why are the political temperature and intolerance rising among the political parties?
PTI MPA Shahzad Qureshi: I think that the aggressive one, who communicates, shouts at lies, misrepresentations, and expresses his positive thoughts, is the true one. It does not mean that he lacks tolerance, but that he does not want to hear anything but the truth, because if a leader starts hearing or telling a lie, he does not dare to speak the truth. At the time people couldn’t imagine Conspiracy! Until yesterday, which did not accept the women’s rule, and used foul language against each other, today false slogans of national development have been spread. Recently, Shahbaz Sharif goes to London, it seemed as if he was asking Nawaz Sharif for permission to dissolve the National Assembly. At present the government cannot make any decision but I think as soon as we start the Azadi March the Federal government will have no choice but to hold elections.
In the current Federal Government, it is clear that it will not hold elections but will complete the term?
PTI MPA Shahzad Qureshi: The government has no choice but to hold elections. The most important thing for PTI is national security and sovereignty. We will not compromise for the survival and security of the country. We will work with the people in our democratic way to force the government to hold elections.
Before coming into Government, Imran Khan was talking about the inflation in Pakistan?
PTI MPA Shahzad Qureshi: It is on record that Imran Khan always admitted inflation. He was the first Prime Minister to admit inflation in Pakistan. Nevertheless, we facilitated and financially supported the poor working class in Covid, and provided loans under the successful Youth Program. I think Pakistan suffered the most from the subsidies. The governments give subsidies to save itself because it does not face public backlash. If any ruler continues to give subsidies, then the country will suffer.
Imran Khan came into Government, he was the first to end subsidies, and bring the real face of the economy to the people. How long will it take for the country to be run on subsidies and instead of reducing the debt burden it will continue to increase? How long will the institutions continue to thrive on subsidies? It was to be determined and PTI has informed the people of the facts by setting this direction.
How would you describe the performance of the federal government? If all was well then why did the opposition send you home?
PTI MPA Shahzad Qureshi: In the period of Covid, the world economy was affected, and the closure of business activities to prevent Corona in the world increased inflation. The inflation rate increased up to 30% in Europe and the United States, while in some countries it was up to 100%. Despite the way our government competed with Corona, the world acknowledged it and developed the textile industries, real estate, and stock market without harming the country Imran Khan did without it.
Introducing “Roshan Digital Accounts” for the convenience of overseas Pakistanis, was very popular, thanks to which Pakistanis living abroad invested here because they could easily open accounts in Pakistan and did not need anyone. Improved the FBR system and put the record tax collection economy on the right track. Any government has given a refund to a businessman as much as the PTI government. Introduced an amnesty scheme, this scheme was not only to whiten black money but also to make it invest in the country.
In the last 3 years, the real estate industry has developed as much as any other sector in the history of the country. PTI was trying to turn the small class into entrepreneurs because we wanted the people to be a giver and not a benefactor. Corrected the Bait-ul-Mal and did everything possible to raise the standard of living of the common man. But for the sake of power, PPP and PML-N united in opposition to Imran Khan before that, both parties were enemies of each other. The situation in Pakistan Steel Mill, PIA is at the forefront of both these parties.
