Struggles and dreams behind every profession are beyondmeasure, and we dream big by setting multiple goals to achieve. However, there are some hurdles we face that force us to change our ways and also stress us mentally and physically. The mindset of parents depends on society, culture, lifestyle and how they evolve from generation to generation. Parents normally say their children to work hard and pursue a career in a demanding profession but why they do not ask them to work hard for their passion?
In today’s era, parents are found normally very conscious about whattheir children choose to become and what profession they adopt for themselves because sometimes it becomes a matter of great distress in the family. Most of the children want to go into a profession in which they can enjoy their life with pride and have a stable lifestyle. If a child aspires to become a mountaineer, cricketer, artist, teacher, singer, or dancer or adopts any profession of his choice, he is not normally highly appreciated by his parents.
There are two mindsets of the parents, however, even in the 21st century, the traditional parents emphasize becoming a doctor or an engineer, especially in middle-classfamilies a mindset prevails that if you become a doctor or an engineer your life will become prosperous and people will recognize you in the society. However, you can find these things in other professions too if you work hard with dedication. Is the child not allowed to fulfil his dreams and make his parents and country proud? Or is it only necessary to become a doctor or an engineer? Are these the only options left for youngsters in today’s era?
Success can be defined in many different ways. Supportive parents are a helpful source for a child to analyze the challenges and make pivotal decisions in life. Supportiveness of parents brings out a sense of extreme satisfaction and security for their children and declines unforeseen distress that comes apart. However, success depends upon a child’s abilities, intelligence and potential energy. However, having supportive parents are like an upper hand. Whereasan independent child is also seen becoming successful but sometimes he also faces some consequences because of no parental guidance.
Children who do not have the liberty to choose their profession on their own, and are insisted by their parents to choose the profession of their choice, in some cases, some children fulfiltheir parent’s dream and live a settled life, but mostly on the other hand, they feel aggrieved and unhappy in a profession that is not chosen by them. They maylack motivation and lose interest and work efficiency which they would likely be having in the profession of which they were passionateabout. Consequently, they may end up being despondent and experience hopelessness, therefore, parents should be more supportive of their children and be flexible with them in decision-making.
Most of the time, parents want their children to fulfil their dreams and due to this, a child is unable to transform his passion into his profession. Parents sometimes put so much pressure on their children without wanting them to abide by their ordersto fulfil their dreams of them. If that child fails to achieve thosedreams, then it seems he did not do anything for their parents or is a total loser.
There are two sides to a rebellious child pursuing his passion. On the positive side, it can lead to gratification and fulfilment. On the negative end, he faces judgements or comparisons by parents and others for what he chooses, he may experience disputes which can result in great moral and emotional distress.
The child fails sometimes because he is not working for his dreams, he is not doing what he wants to do andbrings great depression himself. Happiness and success are both interchangeably the core elements of a pleasurable life. If you be happy you will be calm in the journey of success and if you get success then you will live jubilant life ahead. Parents should live happily with their children because sometimes they forget their children’s happiness and they considered more of their social status which directly influences the work performance of their children and also suppresses their creative thinking. Such social status consciousness of parents instils the feeling of accountability for their children to others ultimately.
In a nutshell, parents should always try to understand their children’s aim, so they could add wings which will strengthen them to rise high above in the sky, children should try to understand parents because no parent would ever like to opt for something underdetermine or least valued profession for their children.
