Ten Militants Killed in KP Operations, Six Soldiers Martyred ISPR
Security forces conduct counter-terrorism operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Ten militants were killed in separate security operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa between September 15 and 17, while six security personnel were killed in an improvised explosive device attack, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
In a statement issued on September 17, ISPR said the operations were conducted in North Waziristan and Hangu districts. The military described the militants as members of what it calls Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Khwarij.
Six Militants Killed in North Waziristan
According to ISPR, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan after receiving information about the presence of militants in the area.
The statement said troops engaged the militants at their location. After an exchange of fire, six militants were killed.
ISPR said weapons and ammunition were recovered from those killed during the operation.
Four More Killed in Hangu
In a separate engagement in Hangu District, security forces killed four additional militants, according to the military.
ISPR said those killed had been involved in terrorist activities in the area. The military did not provide further details about the specific attacks allegedly linked to the militants.
Six Security Personnel Killed in IED Attack
On September 17, an improvised explosive device struck a security forces convoy, according to ISPR.

The blast resulted in the deaths of six security personnel. ISPR said the personnel made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the line of duty.
Sanitisation Operations Underway
Following the engagements, security forces have launched sanitisation operations in the affected areas.
ISPR said the operations are aimed at locating and eliminating any remaining militants.
The military said the counter-terrorism campaign would continue under the government-approved “Azm-e-Istehkam” framework.
ISPR said the campaign involves security forces and law enforcement agencies. It added that the operations would continue against what it described as foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism.
The military said the deaths of the six personnel reinforced its commitment to protecting the country.
