Quetta : The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) organized a seminar in Quetta and Zhob focused on guiding women entrepreneurs through the process of starting and formally registering their businesses. The events aimed to create awareness around legal documentation, tax registration, and export readiness—key components often overlooked by aspiring business owners.
Mr. Zain Ul Abideen, Focal Person (Women Division, TDAP), delivered the lead session, providing a step-by-step overview of registration with SECP, FBR, trademark protection, and the role of local chambers. He highlighted that due to a lack of formal registration, none of the 52 applicants from Zhob were able to secure grant funding this year—a concerning trend that the session sought to address.
The events began with welcome remarks by Dr. Abdul Salam, Director BUITEMS, and included a presentation on the entrepreneurial ecosystem by Ms. Aimen Sajid. Ms. Maria, Manager Women Development at Taraqee Foundation, gave the concluding remarks, encouraging more women to take the path toward formal entrepreneurship.
This was the seventh consecutive women-focused seminar organized by TDAP in Balochistan, underscoring its commitment to promoting inclusive economic participation and supporting women-led enterprises across the region.
