Spotify Launches Audiobooks in Pakistan with Monthly Subscription for Rs489

Spotify Audiobooks launches in Pakistan with a new monthly subscription and more than 100,000 English-language titles.
Spotify has launched its audiobooks service in Pakistan, giving listeners another way to explore books and stories alongside music and podcasts.
Starting November 4, both Free and Premium users can subscribe to Audiobooks+, a monthly add-on that provides 15 hours of audiobook listening for Rs489.
The monthly allowance resets with each billing cycle. Spotify will count only time spent actively listening towards the allowance. Users who need more time can purchase an additional 10 hours for Rs579.
Listeners can also purchase individual audiobooks without subscribing to Audiobooks+. This option allows users to own selected titles rather than pay for a recurring monthly plan.
More Than 100,000 Audiobooks Available
Audiobooks+ subscribers in Pakistan will gain access to more than 100,000 titles from Spotify’s global English-language catalogue.
The service also introduces a dedicated Audiobooks tab within the Spotify app. Users can search, browse and discover titles through this central hub.

Spotify has included several features to make listening easier and more flexible:
- Automatic bookmarking: The app saves listening progress so users can resume where they stopped.
- Sleep Timer: Listeners can set a timer for bedtime listening.
- Page Match: Users can switch between a print book or e-book and its audiobook version while keeping their place.
- Offline listening: Subscribers can download audiobooks and listen without an internet connection.
- Cross-device access: Spotify synchronises listening progress across more than 2,000 supported devices, allowing users to switch between phones, cars and speakers.
How to Access Audiobooks+
Users can start by updating the Spotify app to its latest version. They can then open the Audiobooks hub or search for a specific title.
After selecting a book, they can add the Audiobooks+ subscription and start listening.
Users can manage their subscriptions through Spotify Account. They can also find further information through Spotify Support.
Spotify Expands Audiobooks to More Markets
The Pakistan launch forms part of Spotify’s wider global expansion of audiobooks. The company announced the expansion at the Frankfurt Book Fair on October 7.
Spotify plans to make audiobooks available in more than 180 markets by the end of 2026. The expansion aims to give more than 780 million people access to audiobook streaming or purchases through the platform.
Owen Smith, Spotify’s Vice President of Audiobooks, said the service could help people reconnect with reading through everyday activities.
“Books change how we see the world, and the people in it,” Smith said. He added that listeners often turn to audiobooks during commutes, walks and quiet moments at the end of the day.
He said the expansion would also help authors and publishers reach new audiences across international markets.
Audiobook Listening Continues to Grow
Spotify introduced audiobooks to its Premium offering three years ago to create a wider platform for readers, authors and publishers.
The company reported strong growth over the past year. Monthly audiobook listeners increased by nearly 40%, while listening hours rose by more than 30%.
Spotify also said Audiobooks+ had attracted more than one million subscribers since its launch just over a year ago.
With its arrival in Pakistan, Spotify is adding another format to its local offering. The service gives listeners more ways to discover books, explore new ideas and enjoy stories at home or on the move.
