KARACHI: On the directives of Sindh Minister for Food Makhdoom Mehboob-uz-Zaman, the provincial government has further expanded inspection drives across all government wheat warehouses in Sindh to strengthen monitoring and ensure strict oversight of official wheat stocks.

According to officials, joint operations in collaboration with anti-corruption authorities have been accelerated as part of a broader strategy aimed at preventing pilferage, ensuring transparency, and safeguarding public resources. The Food Department has reiterated that no compromise will be made on accountability at any level.
The provincial minister has adopted a clear zero-tolerance stance, stating that strict and indiscriminate action is being taken against officers and staff found involved in wheat theft, mismanagement, or irregularities. He added that cases of alleged misappropriation are being pursued through both departmental and legal channels to ensure accountability.
Makhdoom Mehboob-uz-Zaman said the government is committed to ensuring the availability of affordable wheat and flour for the public and is actively strengthening its campaign against hoarding, corruption, and administrative inefficiency. He emphasized that these measures align with directives from the Chief Minister Sindh to uphold good governance, transparency, and institutional accountability.
He further stated that, in line with the vision of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, public service delivery and protection of national resources remain top government priorities. He said that clear instructions have been issued that any action against public interest will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Authorities confirmed that joint monitoring teams are conducting continuous field inspections, with further strict measures expected in the coming days to reinforce control and prevent misuse of public wheat stocks.
