Saylani Welfare Chairman Maulana Muhammad Bashir Farooqui Qadri calls for uniform enforcement of austerity measures across Pakistan.

Saylani Welfare International Trust Founder and Chairman Maulana Muhammad Bashir Farooqui Qadri has welcomed the Federal Government’s austerity campaign and called for strict, uniform implementation across Pakistan.

Maulana Bashir Farooqui Qadri said previous austerity drives failed to achieve their full objectives because authorities did not enforce the measures consistently at the provincial level.

He also pointed to violations by influential and privileged groups. Such selective enforcement, he said, prevented the national economy from gaining the intended benefits.

Common Framework Needed Across Provinces

The Saylani chairman stressed that a nationwide austerity campaign requires coordination between the Federal Government and all four provincial governments.

Different provincial policies, he noted, could create inconsistencies and weaken enforcement. A common administrative framework would help authorities apply the measures equally across the country.

He urged the Prime Minister to ensure uniform implementation guidelines for all provinces.

“Strict and uniform implementation is essential for the austerity campaign to deliver meaningful results,” he said.

One-Dish Policy, 10pm Wedding Hall Closure

Maulana Bashir Farooqui Qadri particularly called for strict enforcement of the one-dish policy at social functions.

He also urged authorities to ensure that wedding halls close by 10:00 p.m. without exception.

Effective monitoring should cover events organized by influential and privileged sections of society, he said. The rules must apply equally to all citizens.

“It should not happen that the law becomes ineffective before the powerful while small shopkeepers and hardworking citizens alone are made to bear the burden of enforcement,” he said.

Public Support Vital for Austerity Drive

Maulana Bashir Farooqui Qadri also urged citizens to support the government’s austerity measures.

He asked the public to follow the one-dish policy and ensure that wedding functions conclude before 10:00 p.m.

Public cooperation, combined with consistent enforcement by federal and provincial authorities, can help the austerity campaign achieve its objectives, he said.

The Saylani chairman added that effective implementation could also contribute positively to Pakistan’s economy.
