Karachi, June 23, 2026 — Pakistani music duo Sabri Sisters have taken their place on the global stage after appearing on Spotify’s iconic Times Square billboard in New York City as EQUAL Pakistan Ambassadors for Q2 2026.
The recognition marks another milestone for the duo, Sanam and Anamta Sabri, who continue to redefine traditional qawwali and Sufi music while introducing the genre to younger audiences worldwide.
Belonging to one of Pakistan’s most celebrated musical families, the Sabri Sisters are nieces of the late qawwali legend Amjad Sabri and direct descendants of the renowned Sabri Brothers. The duo first gained widespread attention in 2017 after releasing a Persian-Punjabi manqabat in tribute to their late uncle on the anniversary of his passing.

Since then, they have built a strong following through releases that blend spiritual traditions with contemporary musical influences. Their notable works include the popular OST “Meri Zindagi Hai Tu” with Asim Azhar and the widely shared track “Maghron La”.
According to Spotify data, “Meri Zindagi Hai Tu” remained on Spotify’s Top 50 Pakistan chart for more than 30 weeks and became the duo’s most-streamed song to date. The track also earned placement across leading playlists including EQUAL, Pakka Hit Hai, and Hot Hits Pakistan.
Spotify data further showed that the Sabri Sisters have developed a growing international audience, with listeners from the United States, United Kingdom, and Bangladesh ranking among their top markets.
The platform also highlighted changing audience trends for Sufi and qawwali music. Nearly half of the duo’s listeners fall within the 18–24 age group, reflecting increasing engagement from younger audiences.
Speaking about the recognition, the Sabri Sisters said that being selected as Spotify EQUAL Pakistan Ambassadors represents an important achievement and offers Pakistani artists global visibility.
They added that joining a list previously represented by artists such as Abida Parveen and Sanam Marvi made the moment especially meaningful.
Rutaba Yaqub, Artists & Label Partnerships Manager at Spotify for Pakistan and UAE, said EQUAL Pakistan aims to spotlight artists who represent the diversity and creativity of Pakistan’s evolving music industry.
She said the Sabri Sisters continue to expand the boundaries of qawwali while preserving its heritage and celebrating their own artistic journey.
