Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, has forecasted the date for Eidul Fitr 2024 in Pakistan as April 10. The Shawwal crescent moon is expected to be sighted on the 29th day of Ramadan, indicating the end of the fasting month.
Ramadan commenced on March 12, leading to an anticipated 29-day fasting period this year. Maulana Azad emphasized the committee’s willingness to integrate scientific observations into their moon-sighting methodology, while ensuring adherence to Islamic principles and testimonies in the final decision.
The government has also announced the Nisab-i-Zakat at Rs. 135,179 for Zakat Year 1444–45 A.H., symbolizing the minimum amount to be deducted from bank accounts on the eve of the first Ramadan.
Eidul Fitr is a joyous occasion that marks the end of Ramadan, during which Muslims engage in fasting and spiritual practices such as prayers, Quranic recitations, and charitable deeds.
