Karachi: On the occasion of World Polio Day under the auspices of the Rotary Club of Karachi Platinum organized a polio camp at Muslim Khatri Charitable Hospital in North Karachi. In the polio camp, a large number of children were administered polio drops and gifts were distributed among them.
On this occasion, well-known Trauma & Orthopedic Surgeon, and PTI MPA Dr. Syed Imran Ali Shah visited the camp as Chief Guest. While administering polio drops to the children, he said that the responsibility of providing health, education, and security to the people lies entirely with the government.
There should not be any kind of charitable hospitals in the country but should be replaced by sports complexes where healthy sports-related activities should be organized for the people.
Further, he said that the Khatri community is running a hospital equipped with all facilities for the people of the area with their resources, which is commendable.
Addressing the polio camp, District Governor RID 3271 Syed Tehzeeb Ul Hassan Kazmi also specially attended the polio camp. He said that Rotary International has been working for the eradication of polio and will continue to do so. RI District 3271 will cooperate with the Rotary Club of Karachi Platinum in all possible ways to eradicate polio. It will also play its role in providing grants to upgrade the Muslim Khatri Charitable Hospital.
On this occasion, General Secretary of RCK Platinum Noreen Khan said that Rotary Club Platinum is trying to eradicate polio in the country and they are trying to provide awareness among the people regarding polio eradication, and polio vaccination, and remove misconceptions about it. The people of the area appreciated the organization of the polio camp and participated in large numbers, and the members of the Rotary Club of Karachi Platinum also participated especially.
