Houston Texas: Some 1.8 billion Muslims around the world marked Eid al-Fitr, the festival ending the holy month of Ramadan, but the celebration was muted due to Gaza Attacks. Last year during a covid-19 pandemic, friends and loved ones could not gather in celebration and congregation, and far too many families even this year sat down during Ramadan with loved ones missing.
In Texas, Muslim communities celebrated with renewed hope focused on increased consciousness of the presence of God in their lives, reaffirming their commitment to the service of others and expressing gratitude for the blessings of health, well-being, and life itself.
Community leader Dr. Mubashir Chaudhry, who is a Ph.D. in Public Health lead the community throughout the pandemic with his efforts to fight COVID-19 while playing a crucial role in creating public awareness.
“We are happy about Eid but there is also heartbreak because of great destruction in the Muslim world. It should be an invitation for all my Muslim brothers to stand in solidarity with Palestine,” said Dr. Mubashir Chaudhry.
He also added, “As we remember those who we have lost since last Ramadan, we are hopeful for brighter days ahead. The Holy Qur’an reminds us that “God is the light of the heavens and earth,” who leads us out of darkness to the light. I wish Pakistani and all Muslim families an inspiring Eid” Well know and successful American Pakistani entrepreneur Taseer Badar hosted Eid lunch for friends and family. Within the community, he has always made headlines for his charitable endeavors. Eid décor, friends and family dressed in colorful Pakistani clothes, and delicious desi food made this community gathering joyous.
