P&G Celebrates 30 Years of Strong Business Growth in Pakistan.

Karachi, November 1, 2021: Procter & Gamble (P&G), one of the leading FMCG companies
in the world, is celebrating 30 years of its Strong Business Growth and successful business operations in Pakistan. Since its first shipment of in 1991, P&G has won the trust and confidence of Pakistani consumers through the
introduction of premium quality brands and sustained investments in the industry, community and human
resource.


Sharing his thoughts on this landmark occasion, Adil Farhat, Chief Executive Officer for P&G Pakistan, said:
“This milestone is a moment of great pride for P&G. Our journey in Pakistan began 30 years ago and
through the years, we have remained steadfast in our purpose to touch and improve the lives of Pakistani
consumers. Our world-renowned brands are household names and have become a special part of
consumers’ everyday lives. We continue to invest in Pakistan by building local manufacturing factories and
a strong supply base. This has led to creation of thousands of jobs directly and indirectly. We are also
improving lives of the community with programs like P&G Children’s Safe Drinking Water, as well as
Safeguard and Always School Education programs. Through these programs, we have been providing
clean drinking water, health and hygiene awareness and quality education, reaching over 49 million
Pakistanis to date.”

Often described as a multinational success story in Pakistan, the company’s string of foreign direct
investments can be traced back to the time when P&G set up its first plant in 1994 in Hub, Balochistan. The
plant manufactures the anti-bacterial soap Safeguard. Building on its investment profile, P&G inaugurated a
state-of-the-art laundry detergent plant in Port Qasim in December 2010, followed by a haircare plant in 2016.

Today, P&G Pakistan exports its entire portfolio to Afghanistan as well as to 23 countries across
Europe. P&G manufacturing sites in Pakistan are considered amongst the top 19 countries globally where
100% P&G manufacturing facilities meet the zero-waste-to-landfill qualification.


P&G continues to hire the best talent with a thorough and purposeful hiring process in leading universities
across Pakistan. It also conducts well-built student-focused activities to help aspiring young professionals
grow. As such, in the last ten years, more than 100 employees from Pakistan have secured immersive
international assignments in P&G globally.


Furthermore, gender diversity is an important aspect of P&G’s overall diversity and inclusion mission. As a
result, today women constitute almost 40% of the employees at the P&G head office in Karachi with 5 top
function leaders being women.


P&G Pakistan is also actively working on Equality and Inclusion for people with disabilities, under its
platform called #Limitless. Through this program, the Company is introducing more inclusive brand
propositions, workspaces, recruitment strategies and partnerships through specialized hiring agencies.

P&G recently announced a comprehensive plan to accelerate action related to climate change across its
global sites including Pakistan. P&G plants in Pakistan are working extensively towards the Company’s
long-term environmental sustainability vision by promoting sustainability practices amongst employees as
well as with suppliers and partners. Since 2010, P&G plants in Pakistan have delivered 38%, 59% and 25%
reduction in energy, water and CO2 respectively. In addition, P&G Pakistan recently made a pledge to plant
14,000 trees under the banner of ‘Ariel Forest’ in Pakistan which is part of the region’s P&G #ForestsForGood Program.
