KARACHI – Pepsi Pakistan’s biggest musical platform, Pepsi Battle of the Bands, is all set to launch its fourth season on July 29, 2019. As the much-celebrated show steps into its fourth edition this year, preparations are in full swing.

Dropping its first teaser of the upcoming season, the all-new Pepsi Battle of the Bands promises to be full of bolder music and bigger battles. In just over a month, we can expect more heart-thumping, guitar-beating and head-banging music to fill our days for eight consecutive weeks.

Leading up to the highly anticipated upcoming season, Pepsi is in the process of launching a big media amplification campaign. The campaign shall serve to build up the hype for the grander, more innovative and exciting Pepsi Battle of the Bands season four. As Pepsi offers this mega-platform to Pakistan’s extremely talented yet under-recognized, underrated and under-utilized bands, there is a lot to watch out for this season.

The audience should expect a lot more action once the bands step into the battlefield this summer. With the visual spectacle of Pepsi Battle of the Bands stage comes a new soundscape as the show will see a slight makeover.

Pepsi Battle of the Bands has served as the Launchpad for some of the biggest musical stars in the country, such as the first season’s winners Aaroh, runners-up EP and Mekaal Hasan Band (MHB). The second and third season launched gave the world young talents such as Kashmir, Bayaan and Badnaam. Each of the bands offered a new sound in their respective musical genre, be it pop or rock and excelled at it. The audience should be ready and ecstatic to see the inclusion of many new different genres of music this time around. A new crop of bands will introduce the Pepsi Battle of the Bands fans to genres such as rap, neo-rock and electronic dance music (EDM).

With the music landscape changing, we are seeing the rise of genres such as EDM and rap in the local music scene. It’s pertinent that Pepsi Battle of the Bands offer such unique acts a platform to showcase their talents.

Furthermore, this season shall see the show’s format change as well. Bands shall battle each other head-on, bringing out their best and at the same time, raising the stakes of the competition even more and making for some high-tension, high-quality television.

Additionally, the number of original songs bands have been producing will be drastically different too. In previous season, they have been evaluated by the esteemed judges based on covers as well as originals. However, this season will force them to bring their A-game when it comes to their original music, which they will produce in larger numbers as well.

While the overall Pakistani music industry may be slowly moving from 90s rock to blues, Pepsi Battle of the Bands is surely taking it in a new direction, one season at a time. Pakistani music can move beyond that and into new territories because of the quality of the bands that is available in the vast local pool. We can tell that the Pakistani music landscape and the variety of music will be very different after Pepsi Battle of the Bands season four is launched.
