PCB Considers Sahibzada Farhan as Pakistan T20 Captain for Sri Lanka Series
Sahibzada Farhan could lead Pakistan in the upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering retaining opening batter Sahibzada Farhan as captain for Pakistan’s upcoming three-match T20 International series against Sri Lanka, according to sources.
Farhan recently led Pakistan’s T20 side at the Asian Games. Head Coach Mike Hesson is reportedly in favour of continuing with him as captain in the shortest format.
If the PCB approves the proposal, Farhan will replace Salman Ali Agha as Pakistan’s T20 captain.
The selection committee is also considering several young players for the Sri Lanka series. The move forms part of Pakistan’s plans to build a wider pool of players for future international competitions.

Team management is reportedly keeping the 2028 T20 World Cup in mind as it assesses emerging talent and squad combinations.
Experienced players Fakhar Zaman, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf are not expected to feature in the squad for the Sri Lanka series.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka are scheduled to play three T20 internationals in Rawalpindi on October 9, 11 and 13.
The PCB is expected to announce the squad and captaincy decision ahead of the series.
