Karachi: Pakistan’s industrial and commercial capabilities need to be enhanced so that new opportunities can be created for investors, Chairman Export Processing Zones Authority Dr. Saifuddin Junejo said while addressing a function of Rotary Club of Karachi Nexus as a special guest at Ramada Hotel.

Waseem Vohra, Shariq Ahmed, Chaudhry Ansar Javed, Sardar Humayun, Junaid A Kader, Dr. Zahid Hasan Ansari, Asad Facto, Roshan Afzal, Junaid Hamid, Parveen khan, Tariq Salim Alvi, Zareen Ansari, Zahid Hameed, Syed Khurram Anis, Shoaib Arif, Muhammad Fawad Sheikh, Hamid Ashan, and Syed Turab Shah, were also present.
He said that Pakistan’s location is ideal for export industries and businesses. It has an important status, as it is the energy-rich Central Asian states and the Gulf States on the one hand and the South and East Asian states on the other. Pakistan has adopted the concept in its letters and spirit in 1980 and since then has been successful in expanding zones across the country. The first project of Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA) was set up on an area of ??210 acres in Karachi which was later expanded to 94 acres. All these areas have been colonized. EPZA is now working with the Government of Pakistan to expand the Karachi EPZA.
Muhammad Ali Haider, President of Rotary Club of Karachi Nexus, said in his address that most of the charities in the world are done in Pakistan but due to the inflation rate, the number of needy people is increasing day by day. It is engaged in efforts to eradicate poverty and help people, especially those living in rural areas, to find employment resources and help them to stand on their own feet.
Muhammad Ali Haider presented the shield to the guest speaker Dr. Saifuddin Junejo, and Kausar Aslam presented the Rotary International Flag.
At the end of the event, Rotary Members celebrated the Birthday cake cutting ceremony of Aslam Khaliq and Syed Turab Shah.
