Karachi: Atif Farooqi, Advisor and Chief Operating Officer of the Pakistan-Romania Business Council (PRBC), met with Muzzafar Ahmed Mirza, Commissioner Licensing at the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), to discuss measures facilitating Romanian companies’ entry into Pakistan’s market.

Farooqi highlighted PRBC’s initiatives to promote trade and investment, noting growing interest among Romanian firms in Pakistan and the need for SECP’s institutional support in licensing and regulatory compliance. He proposed closer cooperation to streamline procedures and enhance investor confidence.
Referring to the recent Karachi Port Trust–Constan?a Port Authority Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Farooqi described it as a milestone in maritime and trade collaboration and praised Romanian Ambassador Dr. Dan Stoenescu for his instrumental role in its success.
Both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation on trade facilitation, investment promotion, and regulatory support to advance Pakistan-Romania economic ties.
