Pakistan Day at Consulate General of Pakistan, Toronto The Consulate General of Pakistan, Toronto held a flag hoisting ceremony and hosted an event at the Mission’s premises on 23rd March 2022 with traditional zeal and fervor. Consul General Abdul Hameed hoisted the Pakistani flag at the tune of National Anthem of Pakistan. Special messages from the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan for Pakistan Day were read out.
A large number of politicians, dignitaries and members of Pakistani community attended the event. Member of Provincial Parliament Mr. Kaleed Rasheed read out the message from the Premier of Ontario Doug Ford. Member Parliament Iqra Khalid, Liberal Party Leader for Ontario Steven Del Duca, Mayor of New Tecumseth Rick Milne, Councillor Khalid Usman, Councillor Maleeha Shahid, Councillor Sameera Ali, representatives from various Consular Missions in Ontario and community leaders participated in the event.
The speakers felicitated the Pakistani community on their active role in the Canadian society and lauded their efforts for presenting a positive image of Pakistan in Canada. The guests were served traditional Pakistani snacks for refreshments.
